A Lifestyle

One fresh morning, I walked out of my house to go to school.  I was in a rush and I had dropped my mid-day snack, some Nilla wafers.  I didn't bother to pick them up because Fat Boy wasn't outside.  A long school day passed, and when I got home they were still there!  Although, this time Fat Boy was outside.  He spotted the bag and struggled to open it.  I wanted to take a picture for evidence for the observation, but as I reached in my basketball bag for my phone he already opened the bag.  As soon as he opened the bag I took it away from him.  He looked at me like, "What are you doing?"  One question crossed my mind at that moment, "Why do dogs want human food rather than dog food?" So I looked it up on Google and it said, "Dogs like human food better than dog food because it tastes better and has more flavoring, but it can sometimes be bad for the dog. It all just depends on what the dog is eating." Another question ran across my mind after I found that out. The question was, "Whats the difference between human food and dog food?" The difference between dog food and human food is that, depending on the brand of dog food, it has a certain amount of vitamins and nutrients for dogs. It can have different effects on their coat of fur as well.
Fat Boy finds food where ever he goes.  As soon as hears a wrapper of some sort, he runs to the location where the food is at.  Its like he has a radar to find food, set in his brain.  When he gets to where the food is at he does this cute little dance, where he is standing on his two hind legs.  He thinks it will get him food.
I opened the cabinet where the popcorn is and I grabbed a bag of popcorn.  Fat Boy pranced around the corner of the couch into the kitchen.  Seriously, I'm telling you he has a radar that leads him to food.  I put the popcorn in the microwave thinking he would go away, but no he stayed there Laying on the kitchen floor the whole two minutes the popcorn was cooking.  After the popcorn was done cooking, I poured it into a bowl. The one last piece of popcorn fell out, fell onto the floor and rolled underneath the stove.  The stove isn't fully on the ground. There is exactly one inch from the ground to the bottom of the stove.  Fat boy immediately went to go get the popcorn, but he couldn't get it.  It was a bit too far under the stove for him to reach it.  He didn't care, he wanted that piece of popcorn.  He was twisting his head, reaching his tongue trying to get it but he just couldn't.  He kept on trying for approximately 5 minutes. After a while he got tired and just quit.
Throughout this whole observation, Fat Boy hasn't changed much.  He got bigger and fluffier, but i know for sure now that he really loves food.  His name really does suit him.  Fat Boy loving food isn't just a habit to him, its a lifestyle.

Bones

Since I'm so busy, I'm usually never home. So, when I get a chance to see Fat Boy, I only see him when I'm leaving the house or coming home. This time I saw him, laying outside chewing on something, as I was leaving the house. I knew I wasn't going to be back until it was late so I decided to observe him right then and there, while he was active. I walked over to him, trying to be stealthy. Although I knew he saw me, but he was way too interested in what he was chewing on, to do anything. From a far, what he was chewing on kind of looked like the middle of a corn on a cob, the cob. As I walked closer to him I noticed it was just a bone. The bone itself looked really weird. It was brown and looked damp. Although that could be just because of the dirt and his saliva.
I remembered one day in anatomy my teacher was teaching us about bones. He said, "If a dog chews on a bone from the middle he isn't that intelligent. But, if he chews on the epiphyseal ends, the two sides of the bone, he is intelligent." Dogs chew on the sides of the bone only because they want the red marrow on the inside of the bone, the middle. Fat Boy was chewing on the sides of the bone! So I guess you could say he's kind of intelligent. I really knew he just wanted the red marrow on the inside of the bone.
Usually , Fat Boy is super energetic but when he had the bone that's all he was focusing on. He was laying there when my cousin walked by and he didn't get up to bark at her once. He just kept on digging for that red marrow. My family loved the fact that he was clam when he had a bone so we decided to give him one every once in a while. So all in all, I related that one day in anatomy when I learned about bones to when I saw Fat Boy chewing on one.

Carrots and a haircut

Fat Boy (Left) His Mom (Right)
Is it alright to feed your dog carrots? Fat Boy was sitting with me while I was watching tv and eating carrots. He always scratches me and barks when he wants food. When he scratches me it hurts so bad I have to push him away and tell him, "No" but he ends up coming back anyways. So, I thought I'd just give him a few carrots. He ate some and I think he liked it. I mean, carrots are healthy. I looked up some responses from Google and its alright to feed carrots to a dog just not too much. It also said you can feed your dog peanut butter, watermelon, blueberries & other fruits.
I came home and noticed the house was dead quiet. Usually, Fat Boy and his mom are at the door barking. So I was wondering where they were. I searched the house for fat boy cause I've only seen his mom on the couch. I tried calling his name and whistling but there was no sign of Fat Boy. I thought he might have ran out of the gate. His mom on the other hand was really energetic. Which was really weird because she is usually very mellow and calm. Until I noticed some brown spots on the fur. Turns out, it was that was Fat Boy! He had gotten a hair cut! He isn't shaggy anymore. I swear he looks exactly like his mom with his hair short.

Hes not fat, Hes fluffy

I fell asleep on the couch in the living room. My foot was hanging off of the side of the couch. I woke up to Fat Boy tugging on my sock. Kind of like tug of war but I wasn't participating. I finally got up. When I did, I picked up Fat Boy and went and opened the door to put him outside. Instead of putting him outside and closing the door, I sat with him outside. I was holding him but I let him go because he is too wild. After a few minutes he settled down. I picked him up again so we were face to face and I observed him, closely. I noticed since the beginning of the start of the observation project he had little black eyes. But now, you can't even see his eyes. His hair is so long and shaggy it covers his face, it's a wonder how he can even see. His hair is dirty and nappy. I think it's time for a hair cut and bath.

Typical Mornings

I hopped out of bed, walked out of my room and walked into the kitchen to get some breakfast.  As I opened the fridge to get an apple fat boy bit me on the the back of my leg.  He always comes running to the person who opens the fridge.  His name suits him perfectly.  The next day I woke up late.  I ran down the hallway that leads to the living room to get my soccer bag.  Behind me I heard these quick feet.  Fat Boy was chasing me down the hall. Its like a morning game to him.  When I went to go fix my hair in the bathroom he was scratching on the door.  He pushed open the door and peeped his head in through the crack. He just seems to be everywhere.  Although the next day I didn't wake up late, I didn't notice Fat Boy in the house.  As I was walking out of the house I felt the coldness in the air hit my face as if it was a slap of reality.  Then all of a sudden Fat Boy bolts into the house.  I had to call him back outside.  Every time I am about to leave the house he follows me.When I'm in the car he is sitting on the porch just watching me leave with the look of depression on his face.

All About Fat Boy

First things first, fat boy is my 3 month old puppy.  He was born on July 10th. Honestly, my family didn't know my dog (the mom) was pregnant until she was having the actual babies.  She only had two dogs.  He had one brother but he died two days after he was born.  Fat Boy is very small but very fluffy.  His hair has gotten so long it hangs in his face so you can't see his eyeballs.  His fur is white but he has some light brown spots on him while his ears are black, kind of gray.  He is half Maltese and half Pomeranian.  He gets the white fur from his mom, the light brown fur from his dad, but I have no idea where the black fur comes from?  The first week after Fat Boy was born all he did was eat and sleep. That's why I named him fat boy. Trust me he got so big the first week it was crazy.
